We are less than 2 weeks away from the last major Tea Party event before the historic November 2 Election. St. Louis has been selected as the “Gateway to November.” We want to make our event a difference-maker in the mid-term election.

Will you help?

First, please tell everyone you know. Ask them to tell their friends, too. Ask them to check out the official event page: http://www.recyclegovernment.org/stlouis. Ask them to Like our facebook fan page and register on the event page. If they’re not getting our newsletter, tell them they can choose between Daily or Weekly (Monday a.m.) delivery.

Second, you can help cover the cost of this event by sponsoring yourself or others for just $3.

Third, you can help greatly by selling food or merchandise in a booth a table. Just fill out this form, and we’ll get in touch with you.

We are expecting a lot of folks from all over the country. I spoke to a woman from the South Florida Tea Party today. They’re coming. Folks from Texas, West Virginia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan have registered (at last look).

We have training, workshops, and more going on this weekend.

And the eyes of the nation will be on St. Louis.

Please help spread the word. Your personal invitation is the best marketing the Tea Party can get.

Thanks,

Bill

P.S. Call this one 3.5. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out this form. If you’ve already filled it out, we will be in touch with before next Monday.

The millions of good, decent, and loving Americans who have participated in Tea Party events deserve nothing less than our full condemnation of the NAACP’s hatred and lies.

At midnight, I forwarded this resolution to the Washington Bureau of the NAACP. I have received no response.

It happened to me again today.

It used to irritate me a little. I’d get frustrated at these people. But Jim Durbin and others pointed out that I was being shortsighted.

In reality, it’s great news.

Today at lunch I learned about yet another one of our silent majority. These are people who are politics junkies, who are center-right in their views, and who openly confess to agreeing with the goals they hear from most of the tea party people.

But they never, ever come out to an event.

I used to ask why. Now I know.

“Just not his cup of tea, I guess.”

Conservatives are, by and large, quiet. What was so unusual about 2009 and early 2010 was that we broke out of our shells. We’ve often thought outside the box, but this year we’re acting outside the box. We are driving the news and taking the fight to them.

That’s changed everything.

But it’s silly to assume everyone who agrees with smaller government, fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, and reducing the national debt would also feel comfortable at street protests and rallies. Even our Thursday Night Throwdowns at Sky Music Lounge might be more social than some feel comfortable doing.

Fine. In fact, I love it. It means there are many, many uncounted, uncountable supporters out there.

So the next time someone tells you, “I’ve never been to a tea party,” thank them. They just might be our strongest supporters.

The people have spoken and they want another Rolling Tea Party!

On Saturday 04/03/10, “St. Louis Tea Party”, “I Heard The People Say”, and “Show-Me Patriots” invite St. Louis Metro Area Conservatives, Republicans, and other Fiscally Responsible citizens to join in a Rolling Tea Party through portions of St. Charles County.

You are invited to decorate your vehicle with appropriate (and responsible) items to protest the out of control spending and legislation being proposed and enacted in Washington, DC.

Join us at the O’Fallon Target parking lot (2300 Hwy K, O’Fallon, MO 63376) at 9:30am to prepare and be ready to leave by 10:00am. Look for the Yellow Ford F150 in the parking lot.

Route

The route is posted in the picture below.

We will run the route (mostly) twice and end at the K&N Rally

Notes

The trip is expected to take 2.5 hours

There will be main two stops for re-grouping (we may pause if stop-lights are causing problems)

Do not run stop lights / watch for our friend the ‘Red Light Camera’

Do not slow of hinder other traffic / be considerate

We will typically travel 5mph below the speed limit

Stop The Prop

We’ve been asked by the folks at Citizens for Better Transit to include signage opposing “Prop A” in our Rolling Tea Party. St. Louis County will be voting on this Proposition on April 6th and we could help stop this money-grab by the folks at Metrolink. Your family of four is already paying $350 per year in taxes for Metrolink; this tax will bring that amount up to $650 per year. More information at http://www.stoptheprop.com

If you haven’t been on a Rolling Tea Party before, think Wedding Party meets 4th of July Parade meets Tea Party.

Decorate with signs / flags / streamers / pigs / cans

Noisemakers (one young man brought his trumpet previously)

Window paint

We hope to have prizes for best decorated vehicle

Make sure decorations can handle a speed of 45mph

Watch this site for more information about the trip.

The stories about Tea Party protesters assaulting and harassing certain African-American Congressmen are unsubstantiated, inconsistent, and, frankly, sad. First, the sad.

John Lewis was a civil rights leader who’s role in the movement, like much of the movement itself, faded away like an old Polaroid picture left in the sun. In recent years, Lewis has taken to inventing racism and racists where they don’t exist. He accused John McCain of racism in the 2008 elections. He finds racists in every shadow. Charlie Rangel, who is on his way out of Congress because of ethics and criminal problems, thinks it’s still 1969. He still believes no black people have ever attended or spoken at a Tea Party event anywhere in the country. Or he lies. I’ll go with with “he lies.”

Here’s the video. But first, bear in mind the following. Andre Carson (D-IN) who is with Lewis the whole time, told news media he was called a “n*gger” fifteen times. Note, too, that Missouri’s Emanuel Cleaver claims to have been assaulted and rescued by Capitol Police. John Lewis claims that he was treated as viciously as he marched in Selma, Alabama, in the 1960s. Now, the truth:

Apparently, these men stopped paying attention to the world long before the ubiquitous camcorder. Makes sense, since they still see every white person as Klansmen. Either the incidents to which the Black Caucus members refer happened in another place at another time, or John Lewis, Emanuel Cleaver, and Andre Carson are lying racists.

I’ll go with Lewis, Cleaver, and Carson being racists.

Glenn Reynolds has his doubts about their veracity, too. For the record, Politico claims a man was arrested for spitting on Cleaver, but the LA Times quotes a Capitol Police source, Cpt. Kimberly Schneider, who stated no arrests were made today.

UPDATE: Dana Loesch beat me to it. Great work, Dana.

Here are the National Park rules for First Amendment demonstrations on the Arch grounds. Please read and comply on Saturday. These rules apply to all groups who use the grounds in order to express views under the First Amendment. They are not special rules for the Tea Party only. Please pay particular attention to items 1. and 5.

Item 1 pretty much limits us to megaphones as a means of voice amplification. We wish we could use a sound system, but we can’t. Having the speakers on the sidewalk at the BOTTOM of the steps, though, should help trap the sound.

Item 5 says no sticks or poles for signs or banners.

1. Any loud speaker being used must be so adjusted as to accommodate only those people in the immediate area. All audio enhancement equipment should be portable and battery-powered as there is no power available on park grounds. NO GENERATORS ARE ALLOWED ON PARK GROUNDS.
2. The selling of merchandise or commercial advertising is prohibited.
3. No temporary structures shall be erected. Nothing may be attached to park property (fences, trees, trash receptacles, etc.)
4. If any printed matter is distributed as part of your activity, the printed matter must be directly related to your event and must not contain any commercial advertising. Printed matter will be limited to message-bearing textual printed material such as books, pamphlets, magazines, and leaflets whose primary purpose is the advocacy, definition or explanation of a group’s or individual’s political, religious, scientific or moral beliefs.
5. Signs and banners must not be attached to sticks or poles. This provision is not intended to restrict the use of portable signs or banners as an expression of First Amendment rights. Banners or signs which are hand-carried are allowed; however, they may not be obscene or indecent in nature, and must not pose a danger to anyone else in the area.
6. Participants are to avoid language which infers an official connection with the National Park Service and its activities.
7. The area will be left in the same condition as found and all litter placed in the provided containers. Any park property damaged by, or as a result of the permit holder, will be replaced or repaired at the cost of the permit holder.
8. The permit is only for use of the specific area and time period designated on the permit. Issuance of the permit does not guarantee exclusive use of an area. The area for which the permit is issued will remain open to the public during the park’s visiting hours. Permit activities must not interfere with park visitors or programs.
9. The use of any device or prop that utilizes smoke or open flame is prohibited.
10. The National Park Service reserves the right to immediately revoke the permit at any time should this become necessary in the interest of public safety, public health, and general welfare.
11. The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service, will in no way be held responsible in the event of any personal injury, and/or loss of, or damage to, personal property during, or occurring from, the use of the area.
12. The permittee and all participants are required to comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, regulations, codes, permit requirements and conditions, as well as park regulations contained in Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The permit may be terminated upon breach of any of the conditions or at the discretion of the Superintendent. The permittee and all participants will comply with any instructions from the designated official representative of this office and similar instructions of the St. Louis City Police Department.
13. Good order and proper decorum shall be maintained by those persons conducting and participating in the activity and the group will leave the area at the conclusion time stated on the permit. It is prohibited for persons engaged in activities covered under the permit to obstruct or impede pedestrians or vehicles, or harass park visitors or misrepresent their purpose. Permittee must agree to maintain public access in the area (do not block entire sidewalks/steps/door entrances, etc, with people or equipment).
14. The provisions of 36 CFR Chapter 1 Section 2.51 is the authority used for administering permits for Public Assemblies. A copy of this regulation is available upon request.
15. Failure to comply with the provisions of the permit will result in its immediate revocation. Specific individuals failing to comply with the provisions herein will be prohibited from future participation in their activities at Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

Hope to see you there on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

If, however, the Tea Party of Nevada is not a Democrat front group, I hope its members will put an end to the speculation of running a 3rd party candidate of U.S. Senate in November. The idea of a 3rd party on the right is idiotic and dangerous, arising from hubris and ego, not necessity.

On February 27, we will gather on the steps of the Gateway Arch to demonstrate our commitment to taking back the U.S. Congress in 2010.

One year ago, 38,000 patriots gathered in 40 cities on February 27 to protest continued bailouts and the proposed stimulus. We vowed to build a movement that Washington could not ignore.

In July, the Senate tabled Cap and Trade

In August, Congress recessed without taking over healthcare

In October, Congress began a re-write of healthcare takeover legislation

In November, the Tea Party movement drove a tax and spend liberal Republican from a U.S. Congressional race in NY-23

In January, Massachusetts voters elected Republican Scott Brown to replace Ted Kennedy

Whatever magic was unleashed on February 27, 2009, seems to grow stronger with each passing day.

So join us on the steps of the arch at 1:30. Let’s caffeinate the catfish one more time.

Bring signs, but signs cannot have sticks or poles attached.

Please copy this image and use to print your own business cards to hand out

And check stlouisteaparty.com every day for updates.

Immediately before the 1st Anniversary Tea Party Protest on the steps of the Arch is a 2nd Amendment rally from 10:00 to 12:00. Come to celebrate the right to bear arms and stay to celebrate the right to peaceably assemble, to petition Congress for a redress of grievances, and to retire those who don’t understand why our ancestors left Europe.

I hate to be too hard the people who say our efforts for Adam Andrzejewski were misdirected or futile. There were not. The people who scoff at what we accomplished are simply too lazy to think.

Adam Andrzejewski received 40 percent of the vote in Madison County. Madison is home to River Bend 9-12 and the Alton Tea Party. It’s directly across the river from St. Louis and St. Charles Counties. Many folks from Madison and St. Clair are on the St. Louis Tea Party email list. Many more follow our tweets and facebook walls.

These grassroots conservatives poured on the heat in the last 8 days to give Andrzejewski his decisive win in Madison. Conservatives did well all around the Metro East, as we call the part of Illinois adjacent to St. Louis and St. Louis County.

So let’s not catch anyone hanging their heads. Backed a good man in a state where corruption is king. Chicago media refused to even mention that Lech Walesa, former President of Poland and Nobel laureate, was in their town. Fox 2 News (KTVI) in St. Louis failed to mention Andrzejewski in its election day profiles of the other GOP candidates for governor. (BTW, it’s almost time picket KTVI’s sponsors.) And GOP party insiders or wannabe insiders hired a phony to pretend to be the tea party candidate in order to damage Andrzejewski. Those are some might tall obstacles to overcome.

In the end, Adam got an 11 point surge in the final 8 days of the campaign. With 16 days, he might well have won. With 2 weeks, it might have been a landslide. Our eye is on the prize: come November, we’re cleaning house in Washington. Don’t let anything curb your enthusiasm.
