St. Louis Tea Party Celebrates One Year Anniversary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The St. Louis Tea Party will celebrate the one year anniversary of the tea party movement on Saturday, February 27 at 1:30 p.m. on the steps of the Arch.
One year ago that day in cities across the country Americans answered Rick Santelli’s call to protest against excessive taxes, wasteful spending, and irresponsible government. [...]
Allman wrong about IL senate primary?
I caught a few minutes of Jamie Allman on 97.1 today while taking my truck in for repairs. He was speaking about the Illinois primary election last night and comparing it to the Scozzafava mess in New York.
I didn’t hear all of his comments, so I apologize if I misunderstood him. But what I [...]
The Lion of Liberty Still Roars
Want to read great reflective writing? Jim Durbin, on 24thstate.com, reviews the year of the Tea Party. This is the best reflection on our nascent movement I’ve read. I can’t imagine how anyone could top it. One of my favorite passages:
On each day, you stood up and boldy proclaimed that you were free citizens, not [...]
Details, details, details…
I recently posted an article referring Tea Partiers to a blog site that I found interesting because of the author’s passion and cleverness. A reader whom I’ll call Mister Details took offense at the site and proceeded to “rip me a new one” and assert that my referral demonstrates the “unfocused anger” of the Tea [...]
Check this blog: “Touched With Fire”
A friend referred me to a blog that, he said, should be of interest to Tea Partiers. It’s called Touched With Fire and is written by a woman who says she hasn’t been politically active since the 1970’s. In her words:
“I’ve been forced out of "retirement" because of the narcissistic lunatic who has his sites [...]
Don’t let NY23 get you down
If you feel gloomy about Doug Hoffman’s loss in NY23, cheer up because the news isn’t that bad.
First, consider the election results: 49% for Owens, 45% for Hoffman, 6% for Scozzafava. I think it’s a pretty good guess to say that Scozzafava’s voters are party loyalists who would have mostly gone to Hoffman if he [...]
Tea Party Can Do What Democrats Can’t: Destroy the GOP
In New York’s 23rd Congressional District, we see what will happen to the GOP if it continues to ignore the Tea Party movement: it will implode. How badly? If the GOP keeps fighting small government activists, by 2012, the party will cease to exist.
Arrogant and Stupid
In NY-23, the Republican National Committee (Michael Steele), the National [...]
URGENT: Call Your Friends in New Jersey
Gina Loudon, the genius behind the Whole Foods Buycott, is on the road in Paramus, NJ, to work more magic for Free Speech, Free Markets, and John Mackey. The press release with all the details appears below, but this is a call to get the St. Louis Tea Party people calling all of their [...]
Bill McClellan hates the haters
Once again Bill McClellan soars over the top in his P-D column of August 16. This time he bloviates about the “relentless hate” that has “hopelessly divided” the country. He’s right to note that there’s a serious fracture in our culture, but as usual, he completely misreads the tea leaves (pun intended). While he gives lip service to the liberals’ blind opposition of Bush and Palin, he attributes most of the division to conservatives, specifically Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party movement. Furthermore, he implies that conservatives aren’t just opposing Obama’s policies, but they actually hate Obama because of race.
Quincy Tea Party Updates
Repeat after me: “I will attend the Quincy Tea Party on Saturday, September 12, 2009.”
Ever wonder what Bill Hennessy really thinks about the Tea Party movement? Read this e-nterview with the Quincy Herald-Whig. (Hennessy’s opinions are, of course, his own and do not necessary reflect those of Tea Partiers.)
