PlasticEyes is a retired engineer with more than 40 years of experience in the computer industry at all levels. He started as a computer designer and moved on to software design, specializing in real-time operating systems and compilers. At the fabled Bell Labs he managed an operating system design department of more than 100 engineers. Later he was co-founder and president of the software company that produced Microsoft's first C compiler. After selling that business, he was an independent consultant, an instructor for DevelopMentor, CTO of another software company, and finished his career as a technical evangelist for Microsoft. Over the years he wrote 3 technical books and numerous magazine articles.
