From a member of the Philly tea party, thank you for your timely and common sense response to the NAACP.

Beautiful wording, foresight and strategy! How clever to undercut the NAACP’s planned attack by beating them to the punch. Thanks to you and others who spent so much time and stayed up late composing and sending the resolution. I’ll be intently following what the NAACP winds up doing.

The first phrase is incorrect. NAACP is an abbreviation for Nation Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Although your statement addresses valid issues, the fact that it is directed improperly diminishes its effectiveness.

I have attended at least eight TEA Parties in the St. Louis area and I have never heard a racist remark from anyone. There have been countless criticisms about Congress and the Obama administration but never directed at someone’s race.

Some of our most inspiring speakers have been black patriots like Stephanie Rubach and Kevin Jackson and St. Louis’ own Jay Stewart

The TEA Party isn’t about the speakers. It’s about the people who come to the TEA Parties. They are not racists or bigots in spite of how some people attempt to portray them. They are just ordinary folks. Most have never been involved in any political movement whatsoever. However, they all have one thing in common. They are fearful of the direction our country is heading.

Thank you for your thoughtful response to the NAACP’s racist cant. The NAACP stepped of the path of leadership with the infamous ‘pickup truck’ commercial in the last GW Bush campaign. That demonstrated clearly that it had been wholly captured by groups more interested in dividing than bringing together.

I used to donate to the NAACP. But never again will one hard-earned penny come from my pocket nor will one kind word about them cross my lips. An organization that speaks so mealy-mouthed of the NBBP and so viciously of we Tea Party people cannot be thought of as much more than a rabid dog let loose in the neighborhood of thoughtful people.

Interesting. When I see pictures of the sea of frightened old white people at your gatherings and I listen to people like Tom Tancredo talk about bringing back literacy tests I can’t help but wonder if there isn’t something to the charges. Living in a right wing echo chamber is no way to stay rational. Good luck with your fear and ideology all.
