    Great post!

My advice is to get involved early. Pick a couple of candidates you like–even at the state house level–and help them canvas in the primary. Game day is November 2nd. Contact a candidate or three and ask about their practice schedule. You need to get out in the primary and over the summer to prepare for the main event.

DSM: Perfect, and thanks for reminding me. We have several outstanding Tea Party candidates for Missouri House: Paul Curtman (105th) and Gary Fuhr (97th). Not to mention Ed Martin running for U.S. House in the 3rd District.

Bill- This was an excellent post. Thanks for all you did in 2009. You’re right. 2010 will be a challenge but we must fight off this horrible tyranny we are facing in the country. I am envisioning a Red Congress after the Nov-10 elections. We must stop this radicalism before it is too late.

I have put what I can afford directly into races in other states, like NY23, because even a little bit can change the tide of tyranny. I urge others to do the same. Ten dollars may not seem like a lot in a close Senate race in Massachusetts, but when the RNC isn’t investing, it can be a game changer. Having worked for candidates in my state, I can tell you that the party will often financially abandon a candidate because they aren’t good at recognizing momentum in the last month. We can give a candidate that push when no one else will. United in purpose, we know we have clout. Lets use it.

Put the RNC on notice…no money to the RINOs. Support the candidate running against the RINO.

I agree in supporting the candidates directly OR organizations/PACs you trust. (In some case, the best candidates have the worst campaigns. They need help.)

I’ve heard rumors that the RNC and NRCC have had a lot trouble raising money since the Scozzafava affair. But good candidates like Hoffman and, now, Scott Brown in Massachusetts are getting money from the grass roots. The way it should be!

Just as we realize the days of “Sleeping” are gone. The Politicans must realize the days of Accountability are here to stay.

We can no longer “Elect and Forget”…

The Name of the game is now Constant vigilance. It must be taught to our Children and our Children’s Children, that even those we agree with, Must be Held Accountable. Period.

If this is the Year that we begin the Long Trek out of the Wilderness…

    So be It.

    I would rather live 10 Years a Free Man, than 100 years a Slave…

    Nice Post Bill.

Bill said “I’ve heard rumors that the RNC and NRCC have had a lot trouble raising money since the Scozzafava affair.”

Oh that’s hard to imagine… they sent me this real cool credit card looking thingy… has an eagle pic on it and everything… says I can be a ’sustaining member’… that’s sure to get lots of people to forget NY23.

Didn’t work for me… but I’m sure other conservatives who are concerned about constitutional rights will be totaly won over by it.

Great post, linked into my latest, and stickied to the top.

In 2004, the RNC asked for money. I sent them a nice letter stating I would not donate a dime to the organization again until they closed the border (I had donated the max the previous election cycle). They haven’t received a dime since and apparently haven’t learned much in the interim.
I contacted Rubio in Florida and it took 2 months to get a canned response, which I got again today. If ANY candidate plans to be successful, they will have to catch and get ahead of the game, instead of hiring consultants and pollsters and get to US – the real grassroots.
I am new to this site, but will be checking back often.
I will contact Browns campaign and see if they have their act together.
Steele has been talking a better game, but it almost seems to lack true sincerity. I can only hope my instincts are wrong.

I hope something is possible, since I’m not sure our Grand Republic can withstand even the single party government for the next few months, with the rate of loss of our liberties. We must rebel and take it back!

Liberty is on life support. Encrusted incumbents from both the red team and the blue team are standing on the oxygen tubing.

When the red team gives us Henry Paulson, Ben Bernanke, members of Missouri’s federal delegation who vote for TARP, twice for Cash for Clunkers (Blunt and Emerson), what should the response be? More “consensus” and “civility” will be the dithering that will cause the demise of the patient.

Tyranny is being imposed on us by the galaxy of individuals, some elected and others not, whose survival instincts drive them to grow central government ever larger. While it is imperative, in my opinion, to issue walking papers to those of any party affiliation who aid and abet the imposition of tyranny (and this will obviously catch more on the “blue team” than the “red team”), don’t forget the states’ sovereignty movements. Since the great mass of people still have, unfortunately, a rather superficial grasp of things, and frame their political decisions in terms of a sports analogy, ratcheting back the size of federal government by binding it with the chains of the Constitution and Bill of Rights might just save us all. Look for candidates for federal office who have the guts to go on the public record as supporting the Missouri Sovereignty Project, for example. How mind-bending it is to think of a federal legislator saying, “No,the Tenth Amendment doesn’t permit this, and I won’t participate in robbing my state of her sovereignty!”

I don’t know about all of you, but I’m pretty tired. This has gotten to be a marathon race. Like many others (probably), I’m approaching the whole “Take America Back” problem from multiple angles–supporting worthy candidates from local on up and trying to keep tabs on legislation for starters. Hello from outstate!

interesting read. I cannot quite give up my principles quite as easily as you suggest. The thought of voting for the republicans after the embarrassing 8 years of bush and the joke of nominating a moderate like mccain makes me ill. I’d be much more interested in either seeing Tea Partiers get behind the Libertarian or Constitution parties or start a new party. The people can vote them out if we get the word out.

We need to raise public awareness of the sham that man made global warming and carbon footprint are. You can do your little part. If you are at the Science Center, they do a demonstration on the lower level “CO2, Where are you?” It’s usually done twice a day in the 3:00 hour (3:10 and 3:30) Call or email to complain, or also go there to see it, and when it starts, turn around on the bench so your back is to the presenter. Maybe also hold up a piece of paper saying something brief about Climategate, or sham, etc. If enough people do this, especially if 1/4 to 1/2 of the audience does it, they will drop it. Also complain about the upcoming small “Carbon Footprint” exhibit in the structures gallery. Bill, maybe post something about this on the main page?
