Charges Filed in Gladney Case, but Redington’s Numbers Don’t Add Up **UPDATE: Redington Denies Calls From Gladney, Owens
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that County Counselor, Patricia Redington, FINALLY filed charges against six suspects in the beatings of Kenneth Gladney and Kelly Owens on August 6. The two were assaulted by SEIU employees whom Rep. Russ Carnahan (D) invited to the town hall specifically to “punch back” at those opposing a Washington takeover of healthcare. That’s right: Carnahan had thugs there to beat up his constituents. Some “representative.”
In the story, Redington claims there was nothing unusually about 90+ day delay between the arrests and the charges. But a look at the county’s crime database that the 118 misdemeanor arrests that week were charged immediately and adjudicated already. The open cases from that week are mostly felonies that were referred to grand juries.
After dodging both the media and the victims for months, and acting only under continued pressure from Fox news, BigGovernment.com, and local activists and the victims, Redington finally presses charges. Good. Now if she would only tell the truth and reveal the names of those responsible for delaying justice for the victims.
**UPDATE: KMOX.com reports that County Counselor, Patricia Redington, denies that Gladney, Owens, and others contacted her office to find out why prosecution was taking so long:
Redington was asked if she was pressured after recent publicity about the lack of charges to wrap up the case. "Nobody called me and I don’t know why that was perceived to be long," Redington said.
Redington’ statement is clearly false. Kenneth Gladney attempted to talk to her just yesterday after calling her office for an appointment on Monday. Radio talker and Tea Party founder, Dana Loesch, made calls to Redington’s office which Redington refused to answer. If she will lie to KMOX about these calls, she will lie about anything.
St. Louis County residents deserve a County Counselor who tells the truth, one who doesn’t use criminal law to help her political allies or punish political opponents.

we should protest her office and let the public know how big of a liar she is.Also to let her know we plan to get rid of her!
How long does it take to file charges in a car jacking or a quick shop hold up when the defendants are on video and known to the county counseler?
I’m sure most residents of South County will remember the name of Patricia Reddington. She is the County Counselor who cut the deal with Fred Weber to allow the South County Trash Transfer Station to go through. It was a “backroom deal” that Rep. Campissi was so upset about that he filed an ethics violation against Reddington.
