A friend referred me to a blog that, he said, should be of interest to Tea Partiers. It’s called Touched With Fire and is written by a woman who says she hasn’t been politically active since the 1970’s. In her words:
“I’ve been forced out of "retirement" because of the narcissistic lunatic who has his sites set on making over our country into something I don’t recognize.”
I think you’ll be impressed by her passion and amused by her clever writing style.

How petty… make fun of Mrs. Obama’s hair and her teeth if you want… so the president bowed… didn’t Bush kiss the king of Saudi Arabia..? I want health care reform. I don’t think Obama is doing a bad job. Type in “who caused the deficit” see what answer you get. Bush was on board for most of the tarp spending and most of the stimulus (So was Palin and her running mate McCain) Times are hard but this comes after eight years of Republicans. What is your post about if not just obfuscation..? What policies do you want Obama and the country to follow..? Do you want Medicade to continue..? Do you want social security to continue..? If a guy gets 300 million in bonuses how much of that should be paid in taxes..? What is it that you are ranting against? Did you complain when Reagan ran up the deficit..? When read my lips raised taxes..? When Bush paid out TARP money..? I saw Cheney promising a top down review of the policy we were using in Iraq and that was five years after we were sent there to fight… was that dithering..? Obama has sent a lot more troops to Afg than Bush did… look it up!

I am so tired of people, including our Treasury Secretary, saying that the previous administration helped drive up the deficit and that the Obama Admin inherited a mess. You don’t correct what is wrong by continuing to do the same thing. If running up the deficit got us in this mess than Obama should be for laws that rein in spending NOT add trillions to it. You can’t say it will take time to fix the deficit problems the last administration caused and then go right ahead and spend at a faster rate than they did!!! If a person has huge credit card balances, they do not get out of debt by charging more!!! It’s just common sense, no matter if you are liberal or conservative. The debt issue trumps all others because this is what will bring our country down and no amount of healthcare, environmental legislation, job programs, etc. will bring us back from financial ruin if we do not reduce the national debt.

Answer to the one who asked… Do the proceeding comments have anything to do with…? Did we visit thwe same site..? Did your site have a picture of Mrs. Obama? Did the site you visited have derogatory comments about her teeth and hair? My scattered defense of Obama is because the tea party conducts a scattered attack. The tea party will have to come out from behind it’s unfocused anger and tell me what it really wants. You have obviously read some of the Tea Party’s articles… have you run across any policy or do you get random anger. What policies do you yourself support? Do you want there to be unemployment insurance. Do you think Bush should have kissed the king of Saudi Arabia? Do you think Obama should have bowed? Does Mrs. Obama’s teeth seem like they belong with a vampire..? Do you know I paid a higher percent of my income on Social security taxes than Bill Gates?
I thought I read the article mentioned. I thought it showed Bill Henessey wearing some awful socks and a skirt. Did you visit the site I visited?

Oh, now I see your point, but I’m still confused about a couple of things.
First, if you have problems with the “Touched With Fire” site, why didn’t you leave your comment there? My referral just said the site was interesting because of the author’s passion and writing style. I didn’t mean to imply that I or other Tea Partiers agree with everything the Fire Lady says. Anyway, you must admit that the teeth-and-hair photo of Michelle is pretty hideous, which is probably why the Denver Post pulled it off their site. Regarding the socks-and-skirt photo, I don’t think that’s Bill Hennessy unless he’s gained a lot of weight since the last time I saw him. Publishing unflattering photos of public figures is an accepted and innocuous pastime for bloggers, Leno, Letterman, et al. Most newspapers go even further by printing editorial cartons that are ludicrous caricatures of their political targets. In this panoply of critics, the Fire Lady seems pretty tame.
Second, if you think the Tea Party site harbors nothing but “unfocused anger,” you must not be a regular reader. If you review the blog articles during the past six months, you’ll find many that explain our objections to various Obama policies and suggest other approaches that preserve our Constitutional tradition, capitalistic economy, and free lifestyle. The Tea Party agenda is simple and direct: Inform the silent conservative majority about Obama’s attack on our traditional culture, mobilize them to become more visibly active in the political process, and point them to political candidates who support our values. And since our budget is approximately the square root of zero, this is truly a grassroots effort.

will there be unemployment insurance?
will there be Medicaide?
will there be property taxes?
if my dad has cancer and is dieing and his doctor reccomends pot
will the govenrment step between that doctor and his patient?
will children be allowed to pray in public school? (does that even include my child… who happens to worship satan?)

I submit you have no idea what the Tea Party’s budget is.
I suspect some billionaire might be using you guys to keep the insurance game lucrative. I expect you all to fade away once the health care bill gets passed.

I hoisted my reply to the blog level with the title “Details, details, details” plus subsequent related articles.
If you think the Tea Party movement is just about the health care bill, you haven’t been paying attention. The movement started as a reaction against the stimulus and other Obama tax-and-spend initiatives. It continues as a forum where grass-roots Americans can register their frustration with a Democrat government that seems hell-bent on destroying our country. Regardless of what happens with the health bill, the Tea Party will continue.
And if some billionaire is backing the Tea Party movement, I’m sure not getting my share.
