Socialism is Bad for the Economy
And a bad economy is bad for people who want to work; good for people who live off the work of others.
The Economy Part
Unemployment is up to 9.8 percent as the economy shed 268,000 jobs in September. Economists had been expecting only 175,000 job eliminations. The Dow Jones futures are down close to 40 points, the same as yesterday before the bell.
Remember that Barack Obama promised that Stimulus would arrest the unemployment rate below 8 percent. Obama and his economic team lied or they are incompetent—neither scenario a good one for the American people.
Since July, the White House and the MSM have lied about the health of the economy. Fundamentally, there was no justification for the 3rd quarter stock market rally EXCEPT to allow criminals like George Soros to run up stocks and dump, which I’m sure he’s doing right now. With Cash for Clunkers over, Socialist Motors’ sales dropped more than 40 percent.
On the other hand, count on the media and Obama to take credit for “saving” 100,000 jobs or so. And feel free to mock anyone who repeats such nonsense.
The Socialism Part
Under the cloak of darkness, Senate Socialist-Democrats added an executive pay cap to the healthcare legislation in the Finance committee. If passed, insurance company employees will be capped at $500,000 a year in total compensation and benefits.
Evan Newmark of the Wall Street Journal pointed out idiocy of Socialist-Democrats in Washington is why unemployment will soon top 10 percent. (I am still predicting 12-15 percent peak.) If government prohibits the benefits of a risk paying off, then no one will take a risk. The pay cap is designed to drive more companies out of the health insurance business to give government a monopoly on medicine, which Barack Obama, Barney Frank, and most Socialist-Democrats have sought for decades.

I think the saying goes something like “It’s a recession when your neighbor loses his job, it’s a depression when you lose your job” – something like that. Socialism is already affecting our economy in huge ways. The current administration have either caused such fear for investors and risk takers or just plain have punished them that business development as a whole is nonexistent. I know because in my profession as a self employed Landscape Architect I’ve gone from making $85/hour to working 3-4 part time jobs making $10-$12/hour.
Real estate development and all the related professions are pretty much in the forefront of the construction segment of the economy. My work dried up almost a year ago. Could I sell out and find work somehow in the new “Green Jobs” economy? Maybe, but I couldn’t and won’t sell out that way – I will not give up and become part of the sanctioned jobs created by the likes of Van Jones and the Apollo Alliance.
