ObamaCare: Plan C
Obama and his left-wing Democrat allies have been following a multi-layer strategy to socialize the American health insurance system. Up to this point our protests have focused on the top two layers, which I call Plan A and Plan B. However, we should never forget that there is a Plan C and probably D, E, F, and so on.
Socialist Democrats are fanatically determined to move the country to a socialist health care system, and to do that they must first destroy or co-opt the health insurance industry. That’s been their strategy for more than 50 years, as Ronald Reagan warned in 1961:
Let’s review the three layers of ObamaCare we’ve seen so far.
- Plan A: Universal health insurance with federal government as the single payer.
Long before the election Obama announced this as his ultimate goal – essentially an extension of Medicare to cover everyone. However, moderates and conservatives reacted negatively, and since Obama needed the moderate voters, he back-pedaled and now denies he said those words, even though the video has been widely circulated. - Plan B: Create a “federal insurance option” to compete with private insurers
This is what we’ve been protesting for the past several months. Each of the 5 bills currently under consideration has some form of federal option, including the so-called “insurance co-operatives” being discussed in the Baucus committee. And despite the denials of socialist Democrats, each bill uses tax increases to stack the deck in favor of government insurance, even though Obama says these are not tax increases, just new sources of revenue. Their goal is to price businesses and individuals out of private health plans, thus luring us to accept the government as our insurer. This will make it easier for socialists to continue their long march to Plan A and beyond – to completely socialized medicine. - Plan C: Ruin the private health insurance industry
The next few weeks will show if our protests have been successful in defeating Plan B (the public option) or even completely derailing the mad rush to ObamaCare. Regardless of the outcome, we need to understand that there is a Plan C, which aims to destroy the private health insurance industry so that government health insurance becomes inevitable. The socialists will accomplish this by constraining the market to the extent that private health insurers cannot survive. For instance, Obama intends to force insurers, either through Plan B legislation or by executive order, to accept customers who have pre-existing conditions and to charge these high-risk folks the same premium as healthy customers. Although this sounds good to many of us, it’s a false promise that leads to an unsustainable business model. Insurers will have to go out of business, dramatically increase premiums across the board, or fall into the government’s lap like GM and Chrysler. It might take years, but Obama’s constraints will eventually kill the private health insurance industry.
- So, while Plan B has all the attention now, we must remember that the fight doesn’t end even if no health insurance reform bill passes this year. The socialists will simply rev up Plan C to destroy private health insurance using regulations that sound reasonable to us, such as the pre-existing condition reform.
- We all recognize that in today’s system, if you have a chronic medical condition and lose your insurance, you could have trouble buying another policy. But forcing insurers to commit business suicide is not the answer. Numerous medical, insurance, regulatory, and legislative experts have proposed common-sense solutions to this and other heart-wrenching health care issues. Most of these would cost taxpayers little or nothing and would actually strengthen our healthcare system. However, they are non-starters in the Obama world because they don’t lead to his ultimate goal – fully socialized medicine.
- Don’t lose your sense of outrage about Obama’s unconstitutional attempt to take over another large chunk of the American economy.

Well said. Also—let’s not forget that most doctors don’t want Obamacare in any form. Didn’t see much publicity about the doc march in DC this week. The AMA has only about 17% of the docs. Here’s an org of docs that show that most are opposed to Obamacare—and many would consider quitting. http://theasmd.org/
