Dem Senator: Baucus bill is gibberish
Nicholas Ballasy of CNSNews.com has captured Senator Tom Carper (D-Del) on video in a rare moment of Democrat honesty, saying that the Baucus version of ObamaCare is incomprehensible gibberish.
Carper is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which is developing the Baucus healthcare reform bill. He says it’s useless for anyone to attempt to understand the legislative language. Instead, we should read the “plain English version of the legislation” and then trust that the Democrat staffers who actually write the bill will faithfully use that version as their guideline.
Furthermore, Carper says, even experienced senators won’t be able to understand the final language, and so it would be useless to give them 72 hours to review it. They should just trust that the plain English version accurately explains the bill, and then cast their vote. Truly amazing!
Apparently Carper believes that nobody in the country is smart enough to understand the legislation written by Senate staffers. Doesn’t he realize that if the actual bill were available on the web, it would immediately get intense scrutiny by millions of people who are far smarter than these staffers? Perhaps that’s exactly what scares him, Baucus, Reid, Obama, et al.
