Franklin County Tea Party Rocks Union, MO

The Franklin County Patriots rocked Union City Park in Union, Missouri, today, as over 3,000 patriots and 3 dissenters flooded with field with Red, White, and Blue.

Speakers included:

• US Marine Paul Curtman, the man who demanded an apology from Senator Claire McCaskill for trampling on the Constitution that he swore and fought to defend
• KLPW Radio host Diane Jones, who inspired the crowd and gave great witness to the power of respecting the dignity of those who disagree.
• Missouri Director for Americans for Prosperity Carl Bearden who, as always, delivered a lively, upbeat message to press on to never, never, never, never surrender our liberty no matter how daunting the challenge might seem.
• Dave Bailey – CO-Host on AM1350 “The Mouth” who taught us that it’s “health control” not “healthcare” that the government wants to shove down our throats. 
• Annette Read with I Heard the People Say who put the “g” in grassroots as she challenged the crowd to to think small by getting friends and neighbors to join our crusade for liberty and freedom.
• Janet Allquist, the inspiration for 99 Corners, spoke of her growing K and N Rally every Saturday at 1:00 in O’Fallon, MO.  Please honor Janet by staking out your own corner for 1 hour a week until the statists surrender.

We also heard from Franklin County Patriots leader Jedidiah Smith and his father, Thomas.  Thomas talked about getting paid handsomely for his work with the tea party:  “I got paid when Van Jones resigned,” he said.

I loved the Fife and Drum Corps which opened and closed the program, the Patrick Henry actor who read Henry’s speech to the Virginia House of Delegates which inspired the state to join the revolution, and an open letter to congress by a small business owner that brought to the crowd to its feet.

The bottom line:  Rallies are great, but they are less than the tip of the ice berg.  We need to continue to take our fight to the streets.  We need to cover every corner with a K and N style weekly rally, if we stand alone.  We need to drive more and more czars from their illicit perches of usurped power.
