99 Corners Update
Several weeks ago, Janet inspired us to launch the 99 Corners project. The goal was to hold a 1 hour protest, one day a week at 99 locations throughout the St. Louis area through the end of September. This is a VERY IMPORTANT project that will have an immediate impact on the national debate. Keep reading to learn why.

I’m please to say that more and more people are beginning to take up this challenge. Here’s the spreadsheet showing all of the reported 99 Corners times and locations. To get your time and location added, just fill out this form. For those who have already stepped forward, let’s thank them.
Kirkwood City Hall, Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.
Thanks to the Keoughs and their friends who protest in front of Kirkwood City Hall every week. Yesterday, their numbers grew to 10 protesters. Anyone who supports fiscal responsibility and a government confined to its legally enumerated powers is welcome.
Alton, Illinois
Rhonda Linders and her son, Elijah, who held the fantastic Alton Tea Party in July have started a weekly protest on Broadway at 9:30 a.m. every Saturday.
Others
I don’t have many details on these protests, but folks have signed to protest at the following locations and times. These have not been confirmed:
| 1831 Chestnut Street St. Louis, MO Wednesday 12 AM |
Hwy 47 and Veterans Memorial Hwy Tuesday 5 PM |
Lindberg next to Target in Florissant,Mo 63031. Starts 9/13.Questions? rngdmerkel-at-hotmail-dot-com Sundays 4 PM |
| McKelvey and St. Charles Rock Road, MO 63044 Thursday 5 PM |
webster Saturday 8 AM |
Obviously, the leaders of the Webster protest need to provide more details.
Why Is This Important
I promised to tell you why 99 Corners is the most important conservative action project of the summer. Here you go:
If we don’t wake the masses who pay no attention to what’s happening, we cannot prevail.
While it’s great to have 400 people at Hwys K and N every Saturday at 1:00, it’s even better to 400 people covering 40 different corner throughout the metro area. Imagine if you saw a diverse set of people in divers locations all over St.Louis, Southern Illinois, the County, Franklin and Jefferson and St. Charles Counties, and beyond protesting for the SAME ISSUES!! And what if you saw them on Monday afternoons and Wednesday mornings and Friday at lunch hour? Imagine, if you were one of the millions who STILL pay little or no attention to what’s going on in this country. Wouldn’t you think, “Holy cow! Those people are just like me. Maybe I better find out why they’re so worked up.”
That’s the whole idea. Wake the slumbering, middle-of-the-road masses who never pay attention to what’s really going on in this country.
YOU CAN DO THIS far more effectively than a few people with names and faces we recognize. You ARE the leaders of this fight to restore the republic.
Pick a Day; Any Day
Don’t get locked into Saturdays. Pick the day and time and location most convenient for you.
Don’t wait until you have 40 people. Start with one. The tea party movement started with ONE PERSON in each city who said, “Damn it! I’ve had it. I will do this even if I do it alone.”
Don’t worry about what others might think. This scared me in February, but here’s the reality. Americans love a leader. By choosing your corner and your time, painting your sign, and heading out for your one hour demonstration every week, you place yourself in the top one-half of one percent (0.5%) of leaders in this country. Probably in the world. You will be imitating Patrick Henry, Sam Adams, and Paul Revere. You will be following in the footsteps of Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. You will become an inspiration to others like Mahatma Gandhi.
You MUST Lead
We are in a crisis. America’s future is at stake. Your grandchildren could be wards of the state—along with everyone else in America—if you don’t take the lead now.
Join others around St. Louis and throughout the country by picking your corner and your time. Others will follow.
Thank you, and God keep this Republic.
Update
Think it doesn’t make a difference? Think again. In Brunswick, GA, (where I spent many months courtesy the U.S. Navy), this happened yesterday (h/t to KCtheKat):
A man has been arrested in downtown Brunswick after disrupting a Tea Party protest against the Democrats’ healthcare reform plan.
The reason the other side is going to jail is because we are having a huge impact. We are winning now, and we will win in November 2010. But only if we keep the pressure on with constant, little demonstrations.
Here’s a GREAT INTERVIEW with Janet of the K and N Protest:
