Tuesday’s U City Town Hall w/ Sen. McCaskill Cancelled **UPDATE**
***UPDATE***
Sen. Claire McCaskill’s Healthcare Town Hall at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO, will start at 1:00 p.m. vice 2:00 p.m. The Senator changed the start after University City Schools yanked her permit for a morning town hall at their high school.
The St. Louis Tea Party Coalition will not officially participate in the Jefferson College Town Hall. Folks who consider themselves part of the Tea Party movement are likely to attend, and we hope they will treat the event with due respect and dignity. We ask that they open with a prayer outside the auditorium, before the event, asking for strength and peace.
The reason we are backing away from this particular event is, in part, due to Senator McCaskill’s handling of the Health Care issue over the past two weeks. Senator McCaskill gave the AFP and the Tea Party a forum to express our views two weeks ago. Since then, she has denounced her party’s effort to demonize town hall participants, she has taken a reasonable stance on Cash for Clunkers, and she has wisely condemned Nancy Pelosi’s arrogant and selfish super-luxurious waste of taxpayer money—ordering 8 new Guflstream 5s worth $500,000,000.
Those who have not yet expressed their opinion to Senator McCaskill, and those who have not heard the Senator’s positions should attend the Hillsboro event. All who attend should be polite. And they should all thank Senator McCaskill for behaving like a Senator.
****************
Big apologies to Senator McCaskill. She did NOT cancel the event. University City Schools cancelled her contract.
U City Schools parroted the SEIU’s lies, blaming the people who want to speak, not the people who want to punch and kick.
Senator McCaskill has cancelled her town hall scheduled for University City High School on Tuesday. I believe the primary motivation in this is to perpetuate the myth that we someone caused union thugs to brutally beat an innocent man. We wish Senator McCaskill stick with her statesmanship track of the past week. I would remind the Senator that there was no violence or threats at town halls before the unions, led by the AFL-CIO’s Sweeney, rushed onto the scene, fists flying.
We regret that thousands of St. Louisans have been denied access to their Senator by violence perpetrated by SEIU operatives and condoned by a US Congressman. What kind of a leader buses in hooligans to beat down his constituents? (Hint: consult your 20th Century European history books.)
We do note that Senator McCaskill has not yet cancelled the event scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, MO. If you plan to attend, please follow this advice:
1. Gather together with the other Tea Partiers outside about 30 minutes before the doors open. Pray together for unity, strength, reserve, dignity, and peace. Pray sincerely that our legislators choose the right path.
2. Commit to refrain from shouting. Pretend you’re in church. We’ve gotten their attention, so normal tones will now work.
3. Smile often and at everyone.
4. Do NOT offer to shake hands with anyone you don’t know. The SEIU has trained its agitators to accuse you of assault if you stick out your hand or take theirs.
5. Commit to winning Claire McCaskill over to our side. Be nice to her–she really has been cordial to us. We must leave a door open for her to enter. We don’t want her to vote for socialized medicine just to spite us.
Finally, remember that we are trying to dissuade Congress from socializing medicine and from quashing dissent. Congressman Carnahan, who continues to blame Ken Gladney for putting his face in the path of a thug’s fist, is a lost cause. We will petition the Missouri Legislature to recall him from Washington. But Senator McCaskill has, at times, demonstrated great maturity. Should she choose to take up our cause, we must make it easy and rewarding for her to do so.
Let’s start on Tuesday.

I don’t know if I saw it on a clip from Mehlville 8/6, or from a Florida event (I’ve watched a lot of clips in the last 24 hours!), but somewhere someone started singing “America the Beautiful.” I thought that was great! Fabulous!
Take print-outs of the lyrics, if necessary–I myself am ashamed to admit that I only know the first verse of several very important patriotic songs–and if things seem to get rough with shouting, etc., just start singing the Anthem or America the Beautiful. Seems like a good way to defuse things, and to take the “high road.” Plus, it would be a way for people to learn the songs better!
You can see the video at Gateway Pundit.
Don’t let Claire fool you. She is definitely in the bag for Obummer.
Claire McCaskill is not an un-bright lady. She knows that her only chance to stay in the game is to placate her constitutents. She speaks out against the criticism against those that are voicing their oppositisn to ObamaCare, she votes against the renewal of the Cash For Clunkers and she is not cancelling all of her townhalls. She is trying to buy time and she will vote for ObamaCare.
Bill is spot on in my opinion of his strategy. We have a chance here to set the tone for the entire nation. A new tactic by the teaparty that will also put Carnahan on the blocks for what happened Thursday. We need to be heard but heard in a manner that can persuade, not just the senator but all who will be watching across the nation. One or two good sound bites with good arguments, no video of shouting ( which was understandable with Carnahan he took no questions) But let us give the Senator a chance to be fair to us by showing our restraint. Remember we want to be heard with our opposing views. Lets take their ammo away by being the restrained ones while they are the shouters and brutes. Bill a letter from you and Dana or your letter with bullets to inform our members who do not read your blog and the other groups to get them on board with your strategy. I can get printed if you need.
I would love to see a national story with someone from our group making a damaging point of the bill rather than a shouted incoherent rant. It may allow us to vent but that is all it does.

Looks like the country went from a moronic spender to a contitutional educated spender. Are we ever going to see a main stream Republican conservative?
Great news that we intimidated McCaskill. Next stop, Carnie. Figure next time we should be even louder! 2nd Amendment always!
