Wise Word from Major Garrett and Tea Partier

Mr. Hennessey:
I saw an interesting video clip tonight on www.foxnews.com. It is an after the show sort of thing for internet people only with the panel from Special Report.

At one point they brought in Major Garret. He mentioned something very interesting. He says that the WH strategy is to get the so called "mob" to stray off message by attacking the mob specifically. The goal is obviously to change the story from specifics about health care to the behavior of the so called mobs.

It may be worth sending out a reminder to the tea party (your judgement) reminding us of this. Obama, Rahmbo, Axelrod, Pelosi and the rest of them would love to get the media talking about the mobs vs. the specifics of socialized medicine. Charles Krauthammer was of the opinion that one incident could be very bad for the movement.

P.S. We have a great bunch of people, but it would only take one to potentially cause a major problem

St. Louis has been a poster city for the Tea Party movement.  We don’t want to be a black eye. 

Remember, we have many videos from many angles, most of which are used for security.  Claire McCaskill has distanced herself from the DNC and White House strategy of demonizing citizens who deign to object to socialized medicine.  We profoundly disagree with Claire’s position on socialized medicine, but we salute her fairness.

St. Louis does it right.

    This is an interesting post and reflects some thoughts that I posted earlier today on the Gateway Pundit website. I will post them here as well because I think it is so important to get the word out to conservatives about what our strategy should be in order to be effective.

    First, I want to thank everyone for going down to the Russ Carnahan meeting last night. Thank you for showing up!

    I also would like to suggest a new strategy for conservatives. After last night’s events, which have made national news, it seems clear that conservatives must maintain the high ground. This is an extremely important time and these are vitally important issues but in order to be heard, we cannot let people become distracted by out of control behavior. We now, finally, seem to have the attention of the congress and the White House, so now we need to follow up by staying on message and not getting pulled into unproductive shouting matches with the opposition. I am not trying to criticize those who have boldly expressed their opinions, but just think there may be a better way. Let me use an example. I think of it kind of like a parent/child relationship. The more the child can push the parent’s buttons and get them to engage in a shouting match, the less power the parent has. The child WANTS to incite an emotional outburst from the parent. On the other hand, nothing infuriates and frustrates the child more than when the parent is able to maintain self control and continue to hold the line by firmly, but calmly making their point again and again and again. I believe that this is the tactic we now need to take when at these town hall meetings etc. Someone has got to be the grown up, and it needs to be us! We must be calm, cool and collected and VIGILANT. I do not mean that we should let people walk all over us or that we should not be passionate with our words, but we need to be the ones that do not act like children! It is difficult because these are emotion al issues, but we must not allow the other side to draw us into these childish confrontations because all that does is give them and the media more ammo to use against us. We must not play their game. We must execute our own strategy and stay the course of passionate and controlled vigilance until the other side is so worked up into a frenzy at their inability to get us to sink to their level that they just self destruct all on their own. Give them enough rope and they’ll hang themselves. Keep on message, be respectful and polite when they are not, be self-controlled when they are out of control, be passionate and well spoken when they are ranting and illogical, be the grownups and let them be the children! Our message will prevail, but we must be smart. As I said during the last election, Obama getting elected may be the best thing to ever happen to the conservative movement. A sleeping giant has truly been awakened and nothing makes me happier, but we must be a giant with a plan and with self control otherwise all our stomping around will only succeed in destroying what we are trying to save.
