With Bill Hennessy and family in the middle of a move to a new home, Dana Loesch is carrying even more water than usual. Please check out her Dana Show blog for details. Bill Hennessy has been without internet connectivity for more than week. He’s making occasion dashes to wifi businesses to conduct critical work online, but he is unable to blog regularly.
Tea Party Not “Kicked Out” of St. Louis: There’s been some speculation that the reason the July 4th event will be held in Washington, MO, owes to St. Louis kicking us out. Nothing of the sort. There are only a few locations that can hold events for 10,000+ people. Most (or all) of those places are booked years in advance for July 4th events. Remember, this whole Tea Party thing came about in the last week of February.
The combination of few options and high prices tags for locations available, plus the likelihood of smaller numbers because of family commitments among many Tea Partiers, plus the strain a very large event would put on first responders (police, fire, EMS) in St. Louis or St. Louis County, we decided to look to a traditional, beautiful location outside the immediate St. Louis area.
Our strong support from Franklin County and surrounding areas led us to look in that direction. The riverfront location of Washington, Missouri’s, downtown gave Washington particular appeal. With the great cooperation we’ve received from the city of Washington and its businesses, we know we made the right decision.
