Wanted: Location for July 4th Tea Party
If you know of a good location with ample parking, please let us know.
These locations have already been considered and rejected for one reason or another:
- Forest Park
- Downtown (anywhere)
- Spirit of St. Louis Airport Fairgrounds
- Jefferson Barracks
I have asked St. Louis City Parks to recommend a location, but many parks in and out of the city are booked for July 4th a year in advance.
Please use the Comments section for your ideas, or email bill.hennessy@stlouisteaparty.com.
Thanks,
Bill

Maybe we should get some people together and try and figure it out. I was thinking of getting all the bloggers in the area and twitter people together to coordinate also. We could brainstorm for a place to have the event then also.
IF you think this is a good idea, you can email me back at dwelch1972-blog@yahoo.com.

What about Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights? There is no event scheduled for July 4th.
I thought of a place for the tea party. How about Queeny Park off of Wiedman Road. They have plenty of parking and green space off of Mason Road side of the park. There are other groups having smaller tea parties at smaller parks on July 18. One I know of is at Blue Bird park in Ellisville. Maybe smaller venues and more of them spread out over the area on different days.
If forrest park is not considered a suitable location, how about Grant’s Farm. There is plenty of parking and lots of room on the grounds.
How about in front of Soldiers Memorial – between Memorial and City Hall or in front of Union Station around Miles fountain.
What about

Well, there do not seem to be too many people checking out this site, we are 20 days away from a national tea party that was scheduled back in March or April. We had 10,000 people at a rally in downtown on a week night. I find this discouraging at best. Where is our leadership, when were the meetings that we could all be involved in this. This is too important to some of us to squander away. And now it may be too late for those of us willing to step up to have any impact. We do not have the massive email list, we are not getting email updates from our leaders. This is major league ball dropping. I’m mad because you organized the first one to an extreme success, a lot of us volunteered our time to help. Either lead or hand the reigns over to someone else please. This is bigger than all of us and apparently more important to some of us.
NORTHWEST PLAZA PARKING LOT DOESN’T APPEAR TO BE USED FOR MUCH RIGHT NOW. MID AMERICA AIRPORT ON THE EAST SIDE COULD BE A POSSIBILITY. ALSO THERE USED TO BE AN AIRPORT ON HOG HOLLOW ROAD CALLED ARROWHEAD THAT HASN’T BEEN USED AS AN AIRPORT FOR YEARS. DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE RIGHT NOW, BUT IT COULD BE A POSSIBILITY. McCAIN/PALIN HELD A RALLY IN THE ST. PETERS AREA DURING THE CAMPAIGN AT A VENUE THAT I BELIEVE HELD AROUND TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE. THE PRIOR SUGGESTIONS OF THE VERIZON AMPITHEATRE AND QUEENY PARK ARE ALSO GOOD SUGGESTIONS.
Chesterfield Valley has the longest strip mall in the nation. Perhaps we should gather there early, park along the back–away from the store fronts. Maybe the Kemp Auto Museum would let us gather on their parking lot. It is right along the highway. Guess it depends on the politics of the Kemp owner(s).
N.W. Plaza is NOT safe
