P-D To Publish Our Response
Post-Dispatch Editorial Page Editor, Dennis Bailon, has graciously agreed to publish our response to the paper’s editorial of March 2.
In that editorial, the paper mildly criticized the Tea Party, indicating that demonstrators were selfish and self-serving for dumping tea into the river instead of holding a food drive for local food pantries. The real offense to demonstrators was not the body of the editorial, but a sarcastic and condescending comment posted by P-D Editorial Board Member, Eddie Roth.

And don’t forget that we’re hoping to add a food drive to the April 15 Tax Day Tea Party. Plan to bring at least one canned good to the event. We will contact local pantries to have trucks on-site to collect the goods. If they cannot, we may ask for volunteers to deliver the food to the pantries.
While we disagree with Mr. Roth and the paper’s implication that we are selfish, we certainly do not deny that there are families in need during this economic downturn. Our contributions to local food pantries not only demonstrate our compassion and generosity, it will help get Washington out of our city.
